After you've created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic. Just use and promote the new Traffic Buddha link instead of the original source link you had. Every time the Traffic Buddha link is clicked, the page loads followed by a small ad window in the lower right corner. It displays 3 ads PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Traffic Buddha. So if anyone clicks the Traffic Buddha image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral. It's a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Traffic Buddha links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members' links get clicked. So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally--meaning as you make referrals into Traffic Buddha (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Traffic Buddha image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks. And this works up to 5 levels deep. So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Traffic Buddha also.

I didn't get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I just got the tool) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated--my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed. Traffic Buddha even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays. That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all--downline emailing. You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Traffic Buddha really shines. They took time to make the emailing often enough that it's valuable as a user, but no so often that it's a burden to your downline. But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again. Now THAT's cool.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Traffic Buddha. It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.

See it and join here:

http://tinyurl.com/yjzdtwm
Seger Bagiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16966371813582500954noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9116852215877709971.post-2017116481410003002009-12-10T16:45:00.001-08:002009-12-10T16:45:32.797-08:00RegistryFix

Tags: Computer,Registry,Speed up,Registry Fix,Fix Your Registry,Windows XP,Windows,Speed Up,COmputer

Why RegistryFix?
The most common PC troubles are found at locations spread throughout your PC. It's a list of computers you'll never need in your house, or likely even your company, but is the source of significant bragging rights none the less.

The list is compiled by a group of supercomputing experts in the U.S. and Europe and updated twice per year. Aside from the fact it changes constantly, the performance bar shows what Moore's law has done for computing.

AMD (NYSE: AMD) is proud to say it is in the top machine again, just as it was on the last two lists. Topping the list is the former number two machine, a big kitty called Jaguar at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. It's a Cray system with more than 10,000 Opteron processors.

Roadrunner, the former number one, is now number two. It runs a combination of Opterons and IBM Cell B/E processors, which are used in the PlayStation 3. At number three is Kraken, an 18,000 processor Cray XT4 running Opterons at the National Institute for Computational Sciences (NICS) on the campus of the University of Tennessee.

All told, five of the top ten and 10 of the top 20 machines are AMD-powered, noted John Fruehe, director of Opteron product marketing at AMD. "So people across the board are coming to depend on AMD for supercomputing needs," he told a conference call of reporters.

Of course, Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) is the king of the hill overall, with more than 400 of the top 500 machines, and will likely reign supreme again after six more months of Nehalem deployments. AMD was well-represented in the top of the list but only had 42 machines on the 500 list this time.

All of these AMD systems were upgradeable, since AMD has released several generations of socket-compatible processors. Roadrunner, for instance, was initially deployed with the first generation of Barcelona-era quad-core Opterons. The Department of Energy has since upgraded those machines to newer, six-core Istanbul Opteron processors.

Next generation Opterons

AMD showed a video (here on YouTube) at its analysts day meeting earlier this week, showing the upgrade process can be done in minutes.

Fruehe said that beginning with the forthcoming Magny-Cours 12-core platform, AMD goes to a new socket that will be compatible with its next-generation core, Bulldozer, and promises a few years of upgrades as well.

"So the upgradability that AMD delivers in getting the Jaguar and Kraken system in number one and number three slots will be repeated," he said.

The original Opteron platform dates back to 2006 and is getting long in the tooth. The next generation will have four DDR3 memory channels instead of two DDR2 channels, so memory performance will increase significantly, he said. Also, the new platform will support PCI Express v2, which means faster I/O as well.

Supercomputing customers currently bidding on a Magny-Cours platform are also including upgrades to Interlagos, the next generation processor, as an upgrade, so customers are actually buying a few generation's worth when they buy a system.

GPUs go to work

They are also looking at GPUs. This list, the first include systems powered by graphics processor, includes a Chinese supercomputer, Milky Way, at the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT). It cost 600 million Yuan, which translates to US$87.88 million, a real bargain by U.S. terms.

Chinese scientists created a supercomputer with 6144 Intel Xeon E5540s and 3072 Xeon E5450s processors and 2560 ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 cards. Together, the system can reach a theoretical speed of 1.206 petaflops, which would exceed the best of the most recent Top 500 list and make it the fastest in the world.

Even the Chinese were stunned at their creation. "I was shocked at the milestone breakthrough, which was beyond expectation," Zhang Yunquan, a researcher with the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), told China's People's Daily publication. "I previously forecast China's first petaflop computer no earlier than the end of 2010."

Fruehe said he wasn't thrilled to see Xeon's in the machine, but figures there will be more GPU-powered supercomputers. "From my conversations in the past six to twelve months I have rarely found a customer who is not interested in GPU and is not looking at how do they integrate that in," he said.

By Andy Patrizio

TAGS: AMD, Intel, IBM, Opteron, supercomputer
Seger Bagiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16966371813582500954noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9116852215877709971.post-56902529618575726732009-12-05T04:43:00.001-08:002009-12-05T04:43:26.078-08:00Can Your Desktop Run Windows 7?
Now what operating system you use? If you are using Windows Vista then it is obvious that your computer is enough to run windows 7. Outlines Windows 7 can run on computers with the following specifications:

A processor rated at 1 Gigahertz or faster
Even low-powered cheap desktop PCs will have at least a 1.6GHz processor these days, and likely have 2.0GHz or faster CPUs. Unless it's one of those specialized low-powered PCs that are made to work in ATMs or Kiosks, just about any desktop PC you're still using has a 1GHz or faster processor. If it's got a dual core or quad core processor, you're all set.

1GB of RAM (2GB for 64-bit Windows 7)
If you bought your system in 2008 or later, you're almost guaranteed to have at least 1GB of RAM. Even in 2006 and 2007, only the cheapest PCs had 512MB or less. Just to be safe however, dropping in a $40 1GB DIMM or two will help if you like to keep a lot of windows open.

At least 16GB of storage space (20GB for 64-bit Windows 7)
If you have a desktop bought since 2001, you'll have at least a 20GB hard drive. If your desktop has less than 20GB total space at this point, it's time to recycle it. If you have a system with less than 20GB of free drive space, consider buying a new drive, installing Windows 7 on the new drive, and of course backup your old drive.

A DX9-compatible graphics card, with the WDDM 1.0 driver
A desktop with an ATI or nVidia chipset is a really good sign that it'll run Windows 7, but make sure you have the latest graphics driver handy. Better yet, look for the words "HD" or "PureVideo" somewhere on the packaging or cardmaker's Website. You want better graphics mainly for Web video, rather than games. If your desktop has an empty AGP graphics card slot, consider a new PC.

The majority of desktop PCs bought since 2006 should be able to run Windows 7 fine, particularly if you bought with future-proofing in mind. If your PC is older than 2004, then you should run the Upgrade Advisor to test your system. Microsoft's tool will let you know if you need a minor upgrade (more hard drive space, more memory, discrete graphics), or if it's a lost cause (too slow processor, older integrated graphics with no upgrade slot). Remember, there's no shame if you keep XP running or maybe try out Linux to freshen up that old system.
Seger Bagiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16966371813582500954noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9116852215877709971.post-85068723132134998612009-11-17T22:34:00.001-08:002009-11-17T22:34:31.450-08:00How to speed up facebook?
by Mike Philips

How to speed up facebook?

Certainly have many times wondered > How to speed up facebook?

This problem more and more begins to trouble the increasing number of users of social bookmarking site, but finally found a way how to handle and speed up without too much difficulty and the need for various changes in the database, system, etc. ...,

Considering that the facebook bit slower, but there is a solution! However, a recently outlined method allows the normal notifications to be turned off.

The software doesn't actually get confirmed as legitimate, but users are able to keep using the product indefinitely.

Microsoft confirmed on Friday it is aware of the technique, but said that it is working to shore up the activation procedure.

"We're aware of this workaround and are already working to address it," a Microsoft representative said in a statement, which also urged customers to only use genuine software, noting the fake stuff can contain malware and other bad things.

It's the latest in a long history of cat-and-mouse moves between the makers of Windows and those who would rather not have to pay for the privilege.
Seger Bagiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16966371813582500954noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9116852215877709971.post-35782814658637112902009-11-17T01:46:00.001-08:002009-11-17T01:46:42.139-08:00Jaguar supercomputer races past Roadrunner in Top500
The Cray XT5 supercomputer known as "Jaguar" has finally clawed its way to the title of fastest computer in the world.

Sitting back at No. 2 on the Top500 list of supercomputers for more than a year, Jaguar overtook IBM's "Roadrunner" according to the twice-yearly list that will be unveiled Tuesday at the SC09 Conference in Portland, Ore.

Jaguar beat out the competition by showing it can process 1.75 petaflop/s, or quadrillions of floating point operations per second, according to the Top500 Linpack benchmark. IBM's Roadrunner was pushed back to No. 2 by posting a processing speed of 1.04 petaflop/s, a dip from the 1.105 petaflop/s it reached in a June 2009 test. The slower performance this time around is apparently due to a repartitioning of the system.

Every six months when the Top500 List is released the threshold to grab a place on it gets higher. The slowest supercomputer (No. 500) on November's list posted a speed of 20 teraflop/s, up from the 17.1 teraflop/s of six months ago. In other words, what is the slowest computer this time around would have been No. 336 in June.

Kraken, another Cray XT5 system, jumped up two places from its former No. 5 position by posting a processing performance speed of 832 teraflop/s. IBM's BlueGene/P, from Forschungszentrum Juelich in Germany, came in at No. 4 with 825.5 teraflop/s. At No. 5 is China's Tianhe-1, the highest ranking ever for a Chinese supercomputer.

The top 10, while still dominated by supercomputers housed in the United States, had just one newcomer. That would be Sandia National Laboratories' "Red Sky," a Sun Blade system that posted a Linpack performance of 423 teraflop/s.

Just as the last time the list was released, the Top500 list is made up mostly of Hewlett-Packard and IBM computers. HP accounted for 210 of this year's 500, and IBM 185. In terms of processors in use, Intel still enjoys the lion's share, with 80 percent. The most popular operating system is Linux, with 90 percent of the Top500.

Here's the Top 10:

Jaguar, Cray, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (1.75 petaflop/s)

Roadrunner, IBM, Los Alamos National Laboratory (1.04 petaflop/s)

Kraken XT5, Cray, National Institute for Computational Sciences (832 teraflop/s)

JUGENE, IBM, Forschungszentrum Juelich (825.5 teraflop/s)

Tianhe-1, NUDT, National SuperComputer Center in Tianjin (563.1 teraflop/s)

Pleiades, SGI, NASA Ames Research Center (544.3 teraflop/s)

BlueGeneL, IBM, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (478.2 teraflop/s)

BlueGene/P, IBM, Argonne National Laboratory (458.61 teraflop/s)

Ranger, Sun, Texas Advanced Computing Center (433.20 teraflop/s)

Red Sky, Sun, Sandia National Laboratories (423.9 teraflop/s)

Seger Bagiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16966371813582500954noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9116852215877709971.post-86852782405809018142009-11-17T01:38:00.001-08:002009-11-17T01:38:59.462-08:00Microsoft testing Excel for supercomputers
At a key supercomputing conference on Monday, Microsoft released a test version of its Excel spreadsheet redesigned to run on powerful clusters of servers.

By engineering Excel to run better on such clusters Microsoft said that customers are seeing spreadsheets that normally would take weeks to calculate now run in a few hours.

The software maker also released a beta version of Windows HPC Server 2008 R2--the latest version of Windows Server designed to run in high-performance compute clusters. The announcements were made at the SC09 conference in Portland, Ore.

Microsoft has taken the standard version of Excel 2010 and combined it with new Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 technology, allowing Excel to run on the cluster. The final version of Excel compute cluster and Win HPC Server 2008 R2 is expected to be ready in summer 2010. The capability has been in development for about 18 months.

The announcements are the latest in Microsoft's push over the last few years to better compete against Linux in the market for compute clusters--high-performance systems built by linking together large numbers of standard servers. Last year, for example, Microsoft managed to crack the upper echelons of the supercomputing ranks, landing in the top 25 rankings for the first time.

Microsoft also said the next version of its developer tools--Visual Studio 2010--will help ease the task of writing software that can run efficiently on such systems.

"Until now, the power of high-performance and parallel computing has largely been available to a limited subset of customers due to the complexity of environments and applications, as well as the challenges of parallel programming," Microsoft senior director Vince Mendillo said in a statement.

As for the new version of HPC Server, Microsoft said it offers the ability out-of-the-box to support clusters of up to 1,000 nodes as well as diskless boot and improved management and diagnostics abilities.
Seger Bagiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16966371813582500954noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9116852215877709971.post-45345439511491681542009-11-17T01:34:00.001-08:002009-11-17T01:34:00.626-08:00Intel unveils supercomputer chip, NEC partnership
Intel on Monday disclosed a version of its Xeon processor line optimized for supercomputers and announced a partnership with NEC to develop future supercomputers.

At Supercomputing 2009 in Portland, Ore., Intel unveiled a future version of its "Nehalem-EX" processor optimized for supercomputers. The six-core chip will run at higher speeds than eight-core versions of the Nehalem-EX processors and will offer advantages for supercomputer specific tasks, Intel said in a statement. Intel also refers to supercomputing as high-performance computing, or HPC.

The chip architecture will offer greater memory speeds and capacity and will allow customers to build single computers or "nodes" with up to 256 such processors, according to Intel. This will be available next year, Intel said.

Intel said Monday that four out of every five supercomputers on the Top500 list published Monday are powered by Intel processors.

Intel also announced that it is partnering with Japan's NEC--that country's largest supercomputer vendor--to jointly develop technologies "that will push the boundaries of supercomputing performance," according to a joint statement.

NEC will use the technologies in future supercomputers based on the Intel Xeon processor and other technologies such as AVX (Advanced Vector Extensions), an extension to Intel's x86 instruction set architecture.

AVX will be used with Intel's upcoming Sandy Bridge microarchitecture due in 2011, according to Intel.

"With NEC further innovating on Intel Xeon processor-based systems, Intel is poised to bring Intel Xeon processor performance to an even wider supercomputing audience, " said Richard Dracott, general manager of Intel's High Performance Computing Group, in a statement.

Fumihiko Hisamitsu, general manager of HPC Division at NEC, said: "NEC's substantial experience in the development of vector processing systems...is a natural fit for taking Intel architecture further into new markets."

A vector processor design can perform operations on multiple data elements simultaneously. Intel Xeon chips are good at scalar processing, which handles one data item at a time.

The initial focus of the collaboration will be the development of technology to boost the memory speed and scalability--the latter refers to expanding a system to increase performance or capacity. "Such enhancements are intended to benefit systems targeting not only the very high end of the scientific computing market segment, but also to benefit smaller HPC installations," the two companies said.

NEC will also continue to sell its existing SX vector processor-based products. NEC, for example, currently markets the SX-9 supercomputer.
Seger Bagiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16966371813582500954noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9116852215877709971.post-57912080693969594592009-11-12T23:30:00.001-08:002009-11-12T23:30:10.234-08:00SQL Server CE Query Tool
Link: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/database/CEQuery.aspx

CEQuery
is written in C# with the help of Visual Studio 2008 platform. Some of the features of this tool are described below:
User is able to create CE database. If the schema is provided, the tool is able to create the tables and columns. User is able to overview an existing CE database with its table and column structure in tree format. User can design a query by dragging and dropping tables and columns from the database tree. User can manipulate [
Insert
/
Update
/
Delete
] records in a selected table. User is able to generate scripts from a single table or of whole databases. [Both for SQL CE or SQL Server]. User is able to open multiple SQL Server CE files simultaneously. User is able to convert a SQL Server database to a SDF file with schema and data. User is able to change password of a SQL CE DB. The tool is now capable of handling the database with no password.“
Seger Bagiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16966371813582500954noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9116852215877709971.post-58743244811086560382009-11-06T05:06:00.001-08:002009-11-06T05:06:46.782-08:00Microsoft scores big with early Windows 7 sales
Microsoft sold over three times more copies of Windows 7 in the week surrounding the Oct. 22 launch than it did Vista during its opening days in 2007, a retail marketing research analyst said today.

For the week of Oct. 18-24, and including the large numbers of pre-orders that Microsoft and online retailers took starting last June, Windows 7 unit sales were 234% higher than Vista's in its first days in January 2007, said Stephen Baker, an analyst with the NPD Group.

"I would call it pretty good," Baker said, "but I wouldn't call it great."

Baker said that expectations for Windows 7 were even higher than its actual performance, but the tough economy and retailers' reluctance to give up on either Windows XP or Vista created what he called a "headwind" for Microsoft's new operating system.

"The fact of the matter is that prior to the launch, there were a lot of operating systems out there," Baker said. "When Vista launched, you didn't see a lot of Windows Millennium PCs," he said, referring to the edition that preceded Windows XP. "Windows 7 will be more of a long haul."

More retailers kept computers powered by Windows XP or Vista on their shelves in the days just before, and also after, Windows 7 launch, explained Baker. "We didn't see the precipitous decline in inventory that we saw before Vista. Then, retailers were 'cleaner,' they didn't have really anything available except for Vista. But now, netbook sales made it easier for retailers to carry inventory with XP up to Windows 7's launch."

While unit sales of Windows 7 were up dramatically over Vista's early numbers, the new operating system brought in a less-than-stellar 82% revenue increase over Vista.

Baker credited the smaller revenue boost to Microsoft's deep discounting of pre-orders last summer, when it sold Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade for $49.99 for two weeks in the U.S. Microsoft. And its OEM partners have also offered a second deal that discounts a Windows 7 upgrade as much as 58% when consumers purchase a new PC equipped with the operating system.

Those bargains pushed down the average sales price, or ASP, of Windows 7 in NPD's initial tracking. The ASP of Home Premium Upgrade, for example, was just $76 by Baker's estimate, much lower than the $119.99 list price.

"Those lower ASPs kept revenue from growing as much as unit sales," Baker said, adding that while NPD could not break out the percentage of sales for each retail edition, it was clear from the Home Premium ASP that that version made up the bulk of the early sales.
Original Post Seger Bagiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16966371813582500954noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9116852215877709971.post-79347144281162375782009-10-30T03:49:00.001-07:002009-10-30T03:49:04.834-07:00Yahoo GeoCities closes on Oct. 26

Season change and GeoCities closes and became History .GeoCities, once the Internet's third most visited domain, will be shutting down on Oct. 26, taking with it thousands of user home pages and decades of data. All that information will be history.... Fortunately, some historians are making sure it's not lost to the annals of time.

Founded in 1994 as Beverly Hills Internet, what is now Yahoo GeoCities was one of the first services to offer an easy way for early Internet surfers to publish their own Web pages. Whereas most hosting options of the 1990s were expensive, thus limiting their use to more entrepreneurial pursuits, GeoCities' free hosting space became the home for thousands of sites built around thematically oriented "neighborhoods": conservation, fashion, military, sports, finance, travel, and more.

But that hierarchy proved limiting and then confusing, as neighborhoods expanded into blocks and suburbs. After a Yahoo buyout in 1999, the new management chose to make the URL structure even more complex. This era was quickly followed by both the dot-com bubble burst and the availability of affordable personal hosting, such as Yahoo's own Web hosting. Neither bode well for GeoCities' long-term viability.

In April 2009, Yahoo announced that GeoCities would cease accepting new registrations in preparation of the service's closing. In June, they clarified: the service would shut down on Oct. 26, 2009. As their FAQ states, GeoCities is not being decommissioned — it's being deleted. That means any data not personally backed up by its owners or readers will not be recoverable, ever.

The shuttering of GeoCities has both historical and contemporary importance. In the latter category, GeoCities is currently the 195th most browsed domain, and a highly referenced one, with two million incoming links — a popularity most other hosts could only dream of. More important, GeoCities (which popularized the notion of webrings) currently serves as a vast archive of information. Digital archivist Jason Scott eloquently explained:

... for hundreds of thousands of people, this was their first website. This was where you went to get the chance to publish your ideas to the largest audience you might ever have dreamed of having. Your pet subject or conspiracy theory or collection of writings left the safe confines of your Windows 3.1 box and became something you could walk up to any internet-connected user, hand them the URL, and know they would be able to see your stuff. In full color. Right now.

Scott and his Archive Team are working to rescue GeoCities by downloading as much of its content as possible — which they estimate to be around ten terabytes. These historians recognize GeoCities as having played a critical role in the development of the Internet. Rather than protesting Yahoo's financially motivated decision, doing fundraising to "Save GeoCities!", or signing online petitions, these data hoarders have taken an active role not in preventing the inevitable but in mitigating its damage by preserving GeoCities in a format protected from further corporate terminations.

Our modern sensibilities may not see the value in dancing hamsters (yes, GeoCities originated that, too), but even that Internet meme has become a part of our online culture whose roots will soon be deleted. Scott sees value in recording such data:

Already, little gems have shown up in the roughly 8000+ sites I've archived. Guitar tab archives. MP3s that surely took the owners hours to rip and generate. GIF files, untouched for 13 years. Fan fiction. Photographs and websites of people long dead. All stuff that, I think, down the line, will have meaning. It's not for me to judge. It's for me to collect.

Scott is the proprietor of TEXTFILES.COM and producer of the excellent BBS: The Documentary. Based on that track record, if he says something is worth holding onto, chances are there's something to it. Even if we can't see that value now, if not for the Archive Team, we may never have another chance to discover it.

So farewell, GeoCities — and hello, history.
Seger Bagiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16966371813582500954noreply@blogger.com0
